The Outdoor Centre at Seneca College will be offering programs for the Bronze Level including Preliminary Training, Practice Hike day and the overnight experience.

Preliminary Training at Seneca

Preliminary training is open to all participants (Bronze, Silver and Gold) wanting to complete the preliminary training section for their expedition.
Content will include: Basic First Aid, Clothing, Map & Compass skills, camping equipment, wilderness code of behaviour, trip planning and risk management. |

The practice hike is open to all participants who have completed their preliminary training and is available for Bronze and direct entry Gold participants (as practice journey 1 of 2) before they embark on their qualifying journey. |

This overnight experience will provide Bronze participants with a qualifying journey and Silver/Gold participants with a practice journey. |
** Your winter experience will include specific sessions for dog sledding and winter camping. Come prepared to be outside for the majority of the day both Saturday and Sunday...dress warm! Bring a waterbottle, lunch and lots of snacks. Hot chocolate will be made available for lunch. Your winter experience will include specific sessions for dog sledding: -how to dress for and how to pack for dog sledding -working with dogs -cold issues and how to prevent them -fire and shelter building -day hike on the property -plus the other material in the preliminary curriculum
