LEADERS IN TRAINING
LIT’s must be 15 years of age by December 31, 2008.
The Leader-In-Training program is a 3 week long session that is offered twice during the summer. 15 LIT’s are selected for each session. Over the course of the 3 weeks, LIT’s will learn about the different streams of leadership development and experiential based learning. Communication skills, teaching and learning styles, tips and techniques for playing with children and managing behaviour are a few of the ‘soft skills’ that will be learned through experiential exercises. LIT’s will also receive outdoor skill instruction to improve their ‘hard skills’. LIT’s will sleep overnight at camp twice during the session. One overnight will focus on camping skills and the other will focus on campfire and evening programs.
Registration for the LIT program is done independently and separate from the regular camp registration process. Interested campers must apply in writing with a resume and covering letter to the Camp Director. LIT’s are accepted into the program based on their maturity, enthusiasm, leadership skills and their desire to play and work with children. Group interviews will be held at camp starting in early February, before camp registration opens.

Session Two: August 5 to August 22, 2008
