Multi Ventures
This program is a great way for you to do a bit of everything while you specialize in other areas at camp. Participants can look forward to canoeing, kayaking, extending archery skills, zip on the zip lines and climb on the climbing tower. This program focuses on having fun at camp and hanging out with new friends!
Air Adventures
Take on a leadership role, participate in an effective team, and challenge yourself to take risks in a group environment! Explorers will spend 2 days on the ropes course, swing, zip-line, and fly on the flying squirrel.
Mountain Biking
This is the 2nd stage of KDC’s mountain bike development program. Campers will learn more about the sport like downhill, cross country and freestyle. To complement their existing skills, campers will work on balance, body positions, obstacle clearance and basic bike maintenance. Campers must be comfortable and competent on a bike with gears. Please bring a helmet and water bottle everyday! We supply campers with bikes to use at camp!
Sailing
This very popular program sees campers learning basic techniques that will include; parts and equipment, rigging, knots, tacking and gybing on our own private lake. This is a very popular option and fills quickly. This year KDC levels will be available for sailing!
Canoeing and Kayaking
This is the next step after watercraft. You will receive three days of instruction in kayaking where you will focus on flatwater kayak skills (straight line paddling, braces, advanced turns, t-rescues and a kayak roll), paddle a sea kayak and whitewater boats. Your 2 days of canoe instruction will help you learn about lifts and carries, canoe rescues, and solo canoeing. You’ll also experience different paddle types and styles. KDC levels will be available in this program to mark your development.
Outdoor Active
Healthy living and active outdoor lifestyles is what this program is all about. Daily activities will include beach volleyball, outdoor ball hockey, ultimate frisbee, trail running on the new fitness trail, frisbee golf and some aquatic activities.
Arts Outside
Due to the popularity of Arts Outside in the Challengers adventure program it will now be offered to Explorers. Program activities may include masks, water colours, groovy jewelry, tye die, sketching and of course a free swim everyday.
