Select Program

The Mountain Bike Specialty Program will run all 8 weeks of the summer and is able to accommodate a maximum of 10 campers per week to 1 Biking Instructor (1:10 ratio). This program is for campers 10-14 years old.

This is our 2nd stage in developing our campers into well-rounded riders. It is recommended that campers participate in Challenge/Explorer Mountain Biking before registering in this specialty program as campers will ride more advanced trails and be introduced to more technical skills. Campers registered in this program must be competent and experienced trail riders. Campers will learn other styles of riding (e.g., free ride, trials and downhill) and enjoy sessions in our trials area and dirt park. Campers will also learn basic bike maintenance and repair skills. A highlight of this program is a morning off-site excursion to Mary Lake to ride a more extensive trail network. Campers must be comfortable on a bike with gears riding on single and double track trails. Campers will be offered a free swim each day. KDC will supply campers with a bike to use for the week. Campers should bring a (labelled) CSA approved helmet and water bottle.
